(February 20, 2013) -- Woman on Campus and Simmons sophomore Sarah J. Galvez '15 is showing her experience participating in the Simmons World Challenge. For two weeks in January, this select group of students remained on campus for the Simmons World Challenge, an intensive program where students develop solutions to some of the world's toughest problems aided by faculty members from across the college in various disciplines. This year's two themes were: immigration and migration, and the failures of modern media as related to social justice issues. On January 30, the 10 student teams had a chance to present their creative solutions to members of the Simmons community, as well as to representatives from nonprofits and corporations such as Open Society Foundation, The Hyams Foundation, General Electric, ANN Inc., Solidago Foundation, and Rest Devices. Said Sarah, "this led to long days, longs nights, random dance breaks, and a great sense of self pride when we succeeded!"
